ACTIVITIES
Activities are aplenty throughout the day at Camp Adventure. Our dedicated and qualified staff will guide your child through his/her choice of educational and recreational activities in addition to some of the required group and individual sessions. Hidden talents and imagination are brought out with the outdoors related arts and crafts classes; our new trail blazing club will teach skills in identifying natural resources and hazards of the land along with locationg specific landmarks from a map of the lands; experts in their fields are brought in to discuss the evils of drugs, alcohol and tabacco, in addition to teaching skills in avoiding conflicts among family members and peers.
At the flag pole, the amphitheater which overlooks the entire mile-long lake is the perfect setting for group discussions and individual mentoring sessions where many lasting relationships between staff and campers develop. Many of our staff members are former campers who developed their qualifications during their summers at Camp Adventure, and have been pursued by the administration to return and begin their professional careers with us. As part of our job search club, as campers become older (14–16), they are encouraged to become involved in our CIT (Counselor in Training) program. This is when training for future employment begins.
